Use and Care of Stainless Steel Cookware

CLEANING

This cookware is dishwasher safe, however hand washing is recommended in place of harsh dishwasher detergents over a long period of time. Allow cookware and lids to cool before placing in water. Hand washing can be done with a soft cloth or nylon sponge and warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.

Stubborn food particles can be easily removed by pre-soaking in hot water with a mild detergent and wiping with a sponge or nylon scrubbing pad. NEVER use steel wool or abrasive scrubbing pads which will leave scratch lines in the stainless steel.

High heat is not recommended and may cause a mottled, rainbow like “heat tint”. This is natural to all stainless steel and is not harmful to foods cooked in the pan or to the pan’s finish. “Heat tint” can be removed with a commercial stainless steel cleaner. “Heat tint” is not harmful to the finish or to the foods in the pan.

WARNING

Overheating empty non-stick cookware may produce fumes. These fumes are not harmful to humans and all pets......except birds. Birds have sensitive respiratory systems. For their safety, they should always be kept in a well ventilated area away from the kitchen.

BEFORE USING

Remove labels and wash thoroughly with a mild detergent. Rinse and dry.

SEASONING

The Cookware with ECLIPSE non stick coating can be seasoned before first use for best results. Heat the empty pan on low heat for one minute. Pour in one or two tablespoons of cooking oil and rub the oil evenly over the entire surface with a paper towel. Periodic seasoning will enhance the non stick qualities. DO NOT leave empty pan on heated burner any longer than one minute.

COOKING

CAUTION: READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW, THEY MAY HELP YOU AVOID INJURY OR DAMAGE TO YOUR COOKWARE OR YOUR PROPERTY.

·         DO NOT put empty cookware on an active heating element or flame. Preheating is not necessary and may cause damage to your cookware.

·         HIGH HEAT IS NOT RECOMMENDED. The clad layer on the bottom will efficiently distribute and maintain the heat. Start with medium heat and reduce to a lower setting once liquid is boiling or meats are seared. Overheating can cause foods to burn and can cause discoloration to the utensils.

·         CENTER COOKWARE over flame or heating element. NEVER use a heating element larger than the bottom of the cookware. DO NOT let the flame extend beyond the sides of the cookware. DO NOT let the handles extend over another burner or over the edge of the range.

·         Metal cooking utensils can be used on the  non stick surface. However, KNIFE CUTTING OR USING A FORK IS NOT RECOMMENDED. In normal use scratches may occur in the non stick surface, however they will not affect the non stick qualities or performance of the pan. DO NOT use electric beaters on the non stick surface.

·         PICK UP OR MOVE COOKWARE BY HANDLES ONLY. DO NOT touch other parts including bottom, sides or lid when hot.

·         DO NOT ALLOW COOKWARE TO BOIL DRY. This could cause damage to the cookware and surrounding areas. If this occurs, turn off the flame or heating element and ALLOW THE COOKWARE TO COOL BEFORE TOUCHING OR MOVING. DO NOT REUSE COOKWARE THAT HAS BOILED DRY.

·         ALWAYS USE HOT PADS OR INSULATED KITCHEN GLOVES when removing cookware from the oven. This cookware is recommended for use in oven temperatures up to 350 degrees F. DO NOT use this cookware under a broiler.

·         The lid is made of specially treated tempered glass. NEVER PLACE A HOT LID IN COLD OR COOL WATER. Allow cookware to cool before putting in dishwasher or sink to clean. Take care not to spill cold water or ice on a hot lid. Tempered glass may break if hit or dropped. Never use lid that is cracked.
